Eastfield Campus Pleasant Grove Scholarship

The Eastfield College Pleasant Grove Scholarship was established in 2013 to support students attending the EFC Pleasant Grove Campus. This scholarship was set up with help from the Southeast Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as a community effort to improving the Pleasant Grove neighborhood and creating a college-going culture.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be an Eastfield College student
  • Must attend class at Eastfield College Pleasant Grove Campus.
  • Must be a resident of the Eastfield College service area or live in zip codes 75217 or 75227 or 75253 or Greater Southeast Dallas neighborhood (Mesquite, Balch Springs or Seagoville)
  • Must include two recommendations from a DCCCD faculty or staff member
  • Must answer the supplemental questions –
    What are your career goals?
    What obstacles have you faced in attending college? (ie. – Family, financial responsibilities, other factors)
    What is your socio-economic background?
    Describe your reasons for pursuing higher education and your interest in your chosen area of study. Discuss what you know about yourself that will help you to be successful and self-sufficient in college and your career.
  • Recipient must maintain the above requirements to receive the spring scholarship. Failure to do so could result in a loss of scholarship benefits.
  • Recipient must attend the Southeast Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Awards Dinner in November.
