Alex Puente Memorial Scholarship

The Alex Puente Memorial Scholarship honors the memory of Alex Puente, whose remarkable life ended much too soon, as a result of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. This scholarship will be awarded to students who are Business, Music, or Welding majors, are working to put themselves through college. Alex’s family and friends established this memorial scholarship with the Foundation. This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors and/or college students attending Mountain View College.

Application Criteria

  • Must be attending or planning on attending Mountain View College
  • Must be a student in good academic standing
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or a C average or above
  • Major in Business, Welding Technology, or Music
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours for period of award
  • Must answer the supplemental essay question in 200 words:
    Why do you deserve this scholarship?
  • Recipient must maintain the above requirements to receive the spring scholarship. Failure to do so could result in a reduction or loss of scholarship benefits.
