Mesquite Host Lions Club Endowed Scholarship

The Mesquite Host Lions Club Endowed Scholarship was established in 2004 by the Mesquite Host Lions Club to assist students that graduated from the Mesquite Independent School District that are enrolled in a DCCCD certificate program.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a DCCCD student attending either Brookhaven College, Cedar Valley College, Eastfield College, El Centro College, Mountain View College, North Lake College or Richland College
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Pre-college applicants must complete the requirements for a high school diploma or GED before the beginning of the academic year in which they plan to enroll in college
  • Must have graduated with a diploma or GED from a high school in Mesquite Independent School District or Dallas Christian school in Mesquite.
  • Must have completed a minimum of 6 credit hours at DCCCD prior to the period of the award
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours for the period of the award
  • Must meet federal guidelines for financial need. Applicants must complete the entire FAFSA process by May 1st.
  • Must answer the supplemental question –

  • Must include two recommendations from a DCCCD faculty or staff member
  • Recipient must be enrolled in and remain in a certificate program
  • Recipient must maintain the above requirements to receive the spring scholarship. Failure to do so could result in a loss of scholarship benefits.
